The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials Review

The sequel to the Maze runner is out and well… it’s out.  This 2hr and 12 minute movie starts off exactly where the first one ended, but just like the first one you are very much confused and looking for answers to what’s going on. They eventually explain it as it goes on. You learn with the characters you, don’t know anything until they do well usually until Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) knows. Which can be pretty enjoyable, if it wasn’t for some long tedious scenes that went just a few seconds to long, but I would recommend it if you  enjoyed and was surprised by the first one as much as I was.

This being movie being in the middle of franchise of the trilogy you can definitely feel it. Look at the trilogy as one long story, the first movie being the beginning the second one being the middle and of course the third one being the ending. I find with trilogies today they have that same format, they don’t treat each movie as its individual movie but they see it as all one big story. Now I know this movie is based on the book series written by James Dashner and I haven’t read the books so I can’t tell you how this movie is different from the book, but I can tell you it was a slow based movie and at times had me thinking about other things or just wanted certain parts to be over. being said I will give this movie the credit of holding a lot of surprises and being suspenseful. Even though you may find yourself drifting off at time you are always wondering what’s going on and what going to happen. I mean at one point you at a scene that looks straight out of a Ke$ha music video to a scene from the movie Mad Max.

This isn’t the best movie and I wouldn’t rate this anywhere close to the first Maze Runner but I recommend seeing it. It was slow, but it keeps you thinking and if a scene doesn’t drag on you’ll be on the edge of your seat. I highly recommended this one well because it was the middle, its building up for the finally. Judging by the end of this one we can expect a bad finally and hopefully a lot more questions answered.

Have you seen the Maze runner: Scorch Trials? What did you think of the movie? Let me know!
