Almost everyone has a laptop these days. It’s become the go-to tool for students and people who work in an office setting.
Laptop portability allows people to take their computers almost anywhere. Mobility has created such a demand that expensive desktop computers are slowly being phased out, allowing each family member to have their own, personalized laptop.
But buying high-performance laptops can be expensive – especially if you’re looking for one that can compete with a desktop computer in processing speed. That’s why I’m giving you my top-five picks for high-performance laptops that cost under $1,000, as well as some tips to help you find the best laptop.
When looking for a laptop, I look for certain specs that I can’t live without.
The first thing I look for is a GHz measurement. The higher that number is, the faster the computer performs. The second thing I look for is a high amount of memory space and Random Access Memory, or RAM for short. Having plenty of memory space will allow you to store large amounts of files, including music, movies and any other documents you might need.
RAM allows you to run multiple programs at once, without slowing down your computer; it’s essentially your laptop’s brain.
The other things I look for is the length of battery life, high-resolution screens and any other extras, like durable speakers and extra software.
These are the specs I considered when creating the list of the best laptops under $1,000.
Also, a little disclaimer for Apple fans: the MacBook Pro isn’t on the list; in order to get a MacBook Pro that competes with these laptops, you will have to spend more than $1,000.
