Trend setting New York Fashion week kicked off with a variety of new styles. This eight day trend setting week leaves New York and heads over to London, but not before fashion experts and tradesmen take note of the new trends hitting the streets. Although New York Fashion Week may be the trend setters for the season, some of the trends showcase in retail stores for years after the season has come to a conclusion. Trending now:

Crochets: Call up your grandmother and tell her to crochet you a dress because crochet is back in style. Many of the newest trends have incorporated crochet with fabric. This season designers Tommy Hilfiger, Custo Barcelona, and BCBG Max Azria incorporated beach influenced crochets with fall trends to create gorgeous handmade-looking pieces.

Hippie Chic: The 70’s trend is staying alive. Many of you have been waiting to put the bell back in your bottoms and this season they are back. Designers Dion Lee, Christian Siriano, Prabal Gurung, and Ohne Titel all used hints of suede, bold prints, chunky layers, and flared pants to create modern 70s-inspired threads to kick off the fall season of fashion.

Fringe: Cowboys and Cowgirls pull out your suede fringe jackets because latest designs in some of the trendiest clothing for the 2016 spring season incorporates fringe. In the past designers used fringe to add accents to pieces. This year fringe accents have been taken to another level with designers to create a bohemian vibe in their designs.
