Let’s face it, there is no way to avoid social media, but does that mean we have to be bombarded with photos and comments of every mundane meal a so-called friend eats, pictures of cats in different positions, or worst of all, every thought someone has on every issue ranging from politics to 2-ply toilet paper. The abuse of social media is too much, and on this issue we look at examples of social media overuse and the reasons why the need to share everything needs to stop! People need to get back into the shells long enough to think at least a minute before they post or like something and the impact of their ridiculous posting addictions.
We put forth a challenge for everyone to not engage in any social media activities for one day, October 8 from 8 am – 8 pm (#disconnect888), and share with us what you did instead. Let’s take back our sanity!!
