2014 was a big year for the North Carolina native, rapper/record producer/singer/songwriter extraordinaire and Roc Nation associate, J. Cole as he finally received the much awaited praise and spotlight with the release of his third studio album 2014 Forest Hill Drive. Not only did the album obtain the heights of Certified Platinum, it became the first hip-hop album with no features to achieve platinum status since 1989.
The successful 20 plus date tour in support of the album, The 2014 Forest Hill Drive Tour, came to an end on August 29th, in no better place then at Crown Coliseum, in his home town of Fayetteville, North Carolina. J. Cole pulled out all the stops in this final show of his tour, by blessing the audience and the stage with songs featuring Roc Nation’s four star General Jay-Z, G.O.O.D Music’s Big Sean, and the biggest name in hip hop right now, Drake. The night also featured great performances by Cole’s own Dreamville artists, Coz, Bas, and Omen, and fellow tour mates, YG, and Jeremih.
With the end of this tour, can only mean one very good thing, J. Cole will be back in the album working on his next masterpiece and moving closer to the domination of a craft that defines him.
