IPhone 5 SETo all of my iHomies be forlorn that Apple has already released their new 5SE iPhone in the eastern part of the world and they’re planning to release it in the western part of the world. The new device loaded with its 4 inch screen is internally codenamed N69  but the launch name will be the iPhone 5se. The se stands for special edition according to apple employees. Apple intends to stop selling the C line of their phones and start a legacy with SE models.

5se contains a design similar to the iPhone 5 with the exception of  upgraded internals, software, and hardware features that blend the old design with modern technologies from the past two iPhone upgrades. These upgrades include:

  • The shiny edges have been replaced with curved glass like on the iPhone 6 and 6s
  • The same 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front camera systems from the iPhone 6
  • Support for larger panoramas and autofocus for video recording
  • Barometer for tracking elevation in the Health app
  • An NFC chip for Apple Pay
  • The A9 and M9 chips from the iPhone 6
  • Bluetooth 4.2, VoLTE, and 802.11ac WiFi chips from the iPhone 6s
  • Live Photos from the iPhone 6s
  • Same Silver, Space Gray, Gold, & Rose Gold color options as the 6s line

For those of you ruffians who like to slam their fingers on the screen this Iphone is for you! The special edition phone will not include a pressure-sensitive screen.Unfortunately this also means that this version of the iPhone doesn’t include a finger print sensor or 3D touch support.  The current 5s will likely be discontinued, per sources, and the “5se” will take its price point.

The new device is said to be released to the US and Canada in late March or early April. This special iPhone is said to cost $450 USD for a 16 GB model.
