New York DJ/producer/rapper Cassidy Durango Milton Willy Podell, a.k.a DJ Cassidy, has been a cornerstone of elite status Djing in New York since an invitation by hip hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs to play at his MTV Video Music Awards party in 2001.  A self proclaimed hip hop kid, DJ Cassidy has been mastering his craft since the age of 10 by playing at local functions and dances, to nightclubs in New York City.  At the same time, Cassidy has been making it his life’s mission to absorb and study eras of great music far beyond his years, which has helped to create his distinct style a wide appeal.

As of 2011, the Forbes publication, shared that Cassidy was performing over 200 gigs a year, with some shows earning him upwards of $100,000 a night.  Cassidy had become the go to guy to provide music for a number of high level functions and and special events for a client lists that included the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Anna Wintour, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, the Obama’s and any other celebrity who has graced any magazine cover over the last 10 years.

DJ Cassidy’s love of music has him now venturing into the realm of production, as he is about to release his first studio album titled “Paradise Royal“.  In staying true to his eclectic musical interest, especially, the sound and style of music created between 1978 – 1982 dance music,  Cassidy has embarked on a mission of recreating that sound using many of the great artists who where the originators, to play the music with the same instruments as the focal point of his album.  Cassidy has also reached out to a number of great artists such as Wale, Mary J. Blige, Chromeo, Estelle, Melanie Fiona, CeeLo Green, R. Kelly, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Kelly Rowland, Passion Pit, Robin Thicke, Jessie J, and Usher, to lend their voices to compliment the incredible music.

The lead single for the forthcoming album was “Calling All Hearts”, featuring Robin Thicke and Jessie J, reached the number 6 spot on the UK Singles Chart.  Cassidy has also just released the video for his newest single “Future is Mine” featuring Chromeo and Wale, which I expect to be a club banger due to is catchy tune and amusing video.

I can guarantee, that we will be seeing a lot more of DJ Cassidy in the future, so I suggest you get to know him now, right here.
