Are Snapchat’s New Features Good or Evil?

Snapchat is one of the fastest growing social media networks in tech news today. If you are unfamiliar with the product, the platform allows the users to send time sensitive messages and videos. Snapchat made tech news headlines in mid-September with the addition of new features to the platform. The application enabled users to review sent messages twice for free and three or more times for a set price, real time filters for their snaps, and snap chat trophies.

In our society sexting has become a major concern amongst law enforcement officials. Snapchat is an enabler of sexting by allowing the user peace of mind that their snap will not be replayed. This new recall feature may help the sexting situation, or it may deflect from it by allowing snap porn to spread for just $0.99.

On a lighter note parents are using the snap chat real time filters to scare their children. The new filters can make a rainbow come out of your mouth, make you cry fake tears or, turn you into a monster.

On the other hand children are also using snap chat to scare their parents.

Children are even scaring themselves with the new filters.

Snapchat released a feature called trophies. Each user has their own personal trophy case that they can easily access to compare with other users.

Snapchat surpassed twitter earlier this year by becoming one of the top three most used social media networks. The features of this application have definitely attracted more users. Snapchat is a great tool for both the user and the device it is used on. This app doesn’t take up much memory because the snaps are not saved on the device. This app is great for socializing but not networking making the platform good for anything but business affairs.
